Iowa International Center to collaborate with IEDA on Iowa Partner States Program

Iowa International Center has joined the Iowa Economic Development Authority in a collaborative arrangement to manage and facilitate the citizen-to-citizen diplomacy components of Iowa’s Partner State relationships. Iowa’s current Partner States include:

  • Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan (since 1960)
  • Yucatan, Mexico (since 1965)
  • Hebei Province, China (since 1983)
  • Taiwan (since 1989)
  • Cherkasy Oblast, Ukraine (since 1996)
  • Veneto Region, Italy (since 1997)
  • Kosovo (since 2013)

“We look forward to partnering with the State of Iowa in this new capacity to further strengthen long-held and cherished global relationships,” said Pat Grote, Executive Director of Iowa International Center. Iowa International Center has welcomed hundreds of visiting delegations to Iowa from countries around the world through the prestigious IVLP, the Congressionally sponsored Open World, Community Connections with USAID, universities, and other institutions.
